Amid this competitive market, our client’s property was already a guest favorite on Airbnb, with a large outdoor space featuring a beautiful pool and lush trees. However, as a savvy short term rental owner, they recognized the need for a refresh to keep the space feeling modern and inviting. The goal of this project was to elevate the guest experience while staying within a reasonable budget. Rather than a complete redesign, the client wanted to retain most of the existing furniture while enhancing the home’s aesthetic appeal. The property already had a strong Costa Rica-inspired design that resonated with guests, and Pink Wall Designs was brought in to refine and amplify this theme.

With a limited budget, we prioritized high-impact updates—focusing primarily on the outdoor space while making small but meaningful interior improvements.

Through carefully chosen enhancements that balanced style and function, Pink Wall Designs ensured the property remained a standout in San Antonio’s competitive short-term rental market. The result? Stunning hero photos, more bookings, and an increase in both the average daily rate (ADR) and return on investment (ROI).

 

Interior Enhancements: Small Changes, BIG Results

The interior of this property received a refresh that focused on key areas:

 

1. Living Room & Dining Area:

Vibrant paint and eye-catching wallpapers were utilized to update the interior of this home, delivering maximum impact at a relatively low cost. In addition to this, curated art pieces and decorative elements were sourced to tie together the existing furniture with new items, and reinforce the home’s theme. A mix of art, plants, and accessories helped elevate the ambiance of the house, respecting the budget, and without requiring a full redesign.

2. Main Bedroom:

The biggest upgrade inside this bedroom, beyond the decor was switching out the queen bed for a king, significantly improving comfort and desirability for guests. A striking feature wall was also created to add depth and character to the space. A bold new bed frame was chosen to pop against the feature wall, and other decorative elements were carefully selected to enhance the space.

The Outdoor Transformation: The Heart of the Upgrade

One of the standout features of the property was its spacious outdoor area, complete with a large pool, cabana, and loungers.

To take this space to the next level, we focused on:

• Adding lush greenery and tropical plants to enhance the Costa Rica vibe.
• Introducing stylish yet durable outdoor decor to create a more inviting atmosphere.
• Using textiles to add warmth and cohesion to the seating areas.
• Strategically placing lighting to extend usability into the evening hours.

These updates turned an already attractive backyard into an Instagram-worthy retreat, ensuring guests would be drawn to spend more time outdoors!

The Impact: A Revamped Space for Higher Bookings

The total investment for this BnB Boost was $12,650 USD, including Pink Wall Designs’ fee, as well as all furniture and decor. Since implementing the design in December 2024, the property has maintained an impressive 80-85% occupancy rate.

After receiving the design package and implementing everything according to plan, the client shared with PWD: 

"Everything went incredibly well! The guests have been loving the new design and we are getting more bookings because of it!"
